Adding one more notch to my business travel belt, I took a day trip from LA to San Fran to attend ad:tech sf. First time traveling for my company solo, but to a city that’s not too unfamiliar to me. The day began with coincidentally sitting next to a fellow ad:tech attendee on my flight up. I later stopped him at the conference while crossing paths. We laughed about it and discovered we have compatible business objectives.
My overall morning and afternoon consisted of pre scheduled meetings, a couple impromptu meetings, exploring the vast exhibit floor, keynote speaker session (mobile consumer shopping behavior) and learning about some prettying interesting new startups. The event primarily featured ad exchanges and networks emphasizing the surge of what I like to call the world of Traffic Trafficking. However, there are still players in the space who hold quality as primary priority and it’s rarely tough to spot them out.
A very productive day, maximizing the resources of a well-organized event which also served as an enjoyable learning experience. I don’t think at all I would mind to return next year. Though next year I’ll be sure to opt to stay overnight. Suffered a surprise cancelled flight and ended up not getting home until the wee hours. Not to rain on the overall very enjoyable day!
